Holy Eucharist / Mass/ Holy Communion (coming together to hear and reflect upon God's Word in Holy Scripture, gathering around a common table to share of the body and blood of Christ in the form of bread and wine, and being sent back into daily life to love and serve the Lord) is the sacrament of onging participation in the way Jesus and the life of the church. All who hunger and thirst for God in Jesus Christ are welcome to receive Eucharist weekly, as the core spiritual practice of Christian formation and ongoing conversion.
Baptism (a ritual immersion in water, in the name of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, followed by and anointing with blessed oil upon the head) is the sacrament of becoming Christian / committment to the way of Jesus Christ. The calling to Baptism is a gift and work of the Holy Spirit, to which the church community is midwife. As you are called by Holy Spirit into a covenant relationship with God, the church accompanies you as your journey and discern the calling to Christian faith.
Baptism is a sacrament that can be received at any age. Adults and older children who have been led to faith by the Holy Spirit may be baptized, as well as younger children and infants brough by parents and sponsors who with the whole community will nuture them in Christian faith.
Adults discerning baptism will be paired with sponsors and a small group where you are able to: Share your story and ask your questions, explore and experience the Christian way of life and practices and prepare for Baptism (or affirmation of Baptism).
Christian baptism is not so much 'a moment in time,' as it is spiritual birthing into a new way of life and community in Jesus Christ, that is accompanied, marked, and blessed.
Our quaterly baptismal days are: Baptism of Jesus (winter), Easter Vigil (spring),
Pentecost or Holy Trinity (summer), Christ the King or All Saints (fall).
