The 'way of life' nature of following God in Jesus Christ means that there is no realm or sphere of our lives that lies beyond God's influence (including money and how we use it), thus Committed, regular tithing of monies to the church, is of critical importance for the ongoing the work of the church and to our spiritual formation and discipleship as Christians.

As the biblical parable of the 'widow's mite' (Mark 12:41-44) indicates, it is not the dollar amount that is significant, but giving a regular amount that is truly reflective of our income level for proportionate giving.

The established norm in Christian stewarship is the giving of 10 % of our incomes in thanksgiving to God and in suport of the mission and work of the church. - Financial giving at any level is welcomed and greatly appreciated, and at the same time, we continue to value the 10% benchmark, which all Christians may aspire to and some Christians might exceed.
