Community Groups

COTA members meet in various groups during the week in addition to Sunday liturgies. God meets us wherever two or three come together in God's name to share in Christian community. The aim is not just "going to church" (one day a week) but being church in our daily lives and interactions.

Community groups might gather at a home, a coffee house, or a park ... but the purpose is the same: smaller groups (followers and stheopub.jpgeekers) gathering weekly, bi-monthly or monthly, to share life, tell stories, eat meals, serve and grow together in the way of Jesus Christ.

Groups come and go as needed or desired.  Some gather regularly for years, others only for a few months. Each group has it's own way of gathering and basic path. Some are on a cognitive path (studying scripture or theology). Some are on an expressive path (making music, creating art...). Some are on a communitarian path around a common lifestyle or interest (couples hikers, AA recovery...). Some are on a contemplative path (praying evening prayer or spiritual exercises) and others are on an active path (working in soup kitchens, building houses...). Each group is an authentic expression of church, engaging Christian faith in conversation, community, formation and service.

Below is a listing of current community groups at COTA.
